This gallery contains Southeast Nebraska city and township maps from the Official State Atlas of Nebraska – 1885.
The Official State Atlas of Nebraska – 1885 was published by Everts & Kirk of Philadelphia. Compiled from Government Surveys, County Records and Personal Investigations. It is a beautiful old book full of county and city maps as well as some illustrations which I’ll be adding later under a different post. If you like browsing through old dusty books (like I do) check your library to see if they might have a copy. I know that the Library of Congress holds one in their collection. If you can’t find it in a library you’ll be pleased to learn that David Rumsey provides one on his website under the Creative Commons license which allows you to purchase a reprint or download for non-commercial purposes. To find it there, follow this link: DavidRumsey.com
